Tinkle on the ivories

Tinkle On The Ivories. When pianos were first built, the white keys were veneered with ivory. 'Tinkling the ivories' came to mean 'play the piano' in the early 20th century.

Ted, a blind pianist, played the European circuit for over 27 years at fine hotels and lodges. Bob and I met Ted in 2013 and enjoyed his beautiful music while staying at Thurnhers Alpenhof in Zurs, Austria.
